Prof. Dr Christoph Sigrist was born in Zurich in 1963. He is married and has two sons. Christoph Sigrist completed his theology studies in Zurich, Tübingen and Berlin. He served in various parishes, from tiny rural villages to the most famous cathedral in German speaking Switzerland, the Grossmünster in Zurich (since 2003), always with innovative ideas for transformational change. In addition, he wrote his dissertation on the topic of diaconia, ethics and diaconal grassroots groups. Since 1999 with a teaching position, from 2009 as a lecturer, he has been teaching and researching diaconal science at the theological faculty of the University of Bern. In 2014 he completed his habilitation project with the study "Kirche Diakonie Raum - Investigations on the diaconal use of church rooms". From 2014 Christoph Sigrist was a private lecturer, and since August 2018 he has been an adjunct professor for diaconal studies at the theological faculty of the University of Bern. He is also a member of various diaconal foundations and inter-communal committees, such as the board of trustees of the international Development organization HEKS, the Diakoniewerk Neumünster-Swiss Nursing School. He is also President of the Zurich Donations Parliament and as such is a good fundraiser. He is President of the Zurich Forum of Religions (ZFR), the Society for Minorities in Switzerland (GMS). He is also a member of the National Migration Commission of the Swiss Government (EKM).
